Meet Cory Ballis, Master Glassblower
Cory was born in Central California in 1984.
His family, a number of whom are artists, have been driven by creativity. This shaped Cory’s path.
He began glass-blowing in 2005.
Cory earned a degree in Business Marketing from California State University of Fresno.
His passion for glass blowing continued to grow and in 2009 he was hired by Bob Kliss at Kliszewski Glass as an assistant glass blower.
Now, his creative endeavors entered Cory’s heart as a career.
In 2013, Cory attended Pilchuck Glass School where he studied under the renowned training team of Dick Marquis, Nick Mount, and Dante Marioni.
In 2014, Cory opened Ballis Glass Studio. Cory’s (new) business led him from a small space at home to a shared workspace at Fresno Ideaworks in downtown Fresno.
In 2017, Cory and his brother Ryan opened Ballis Boys Studio, a collaboration between glass and metal in a (large) studio located near Fresno Yosemite International Airport.
Cory shows and exhibits his work at numerous art fairs throughout the year and teaches classes to the public at his studio.
